Presentation Of Summer Brief

On Monday the class revealed their summer briefs! We had all been asked to create our own alphabets in a way which represented ourselves. Each letter had to be 10cm x 10cm but could be created out of any material, media and method we liked. I loved looking at the wide variety of different outcomes. As the task was reasonably broad we were all able to express ourselves in completely different manners. One of my favourite examples was an alphabet which had been cut out in detail similarly to a Rob Ryan piece. I wish I could do paper cutting like that!!

I decided to use a small wooden manikin and photograph each letter individually. The main reason for this idea was the emphasis on my love for dancing. Although the letters were not all successful i loved how the manikin looked although it was going though a dance routine.

Below is three favourites of my final outcome. I have chosen X V and L. I like particularly how the V appears although the manikin is in free-fall.
