OUGD405 - What Is Research? Part 1

Process is more important than outcome.
'When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where we've already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where we’re going, but we will know we want to be there.’
An Incomplete Manifesto for Growth – Bruce Mau Design In. 2006

Design doesn’t just straighten and clarify the world, It reflects the world as it ventures beyond problem solving into process, experiment and discovery
– Martin Venezky

Th accumulation and ordering of general information and information specifically related to the problem in hand.

Phase 2 - general Study
Investigation of the nature of a problem
Investigation of possible solutions/means of solution

Phase 3 - Development
Development and refining of one or more tentative solutions isolated during phase 2.

Phase 4 - Communication
Communication of one ore more solutions to people either inside or outside a design team.
