OUGD405: InDesign Induction

Ideal for using multiple page documents.



gutter - the space between columns - usually considered when using text.
bleed - the space around the edge of documents taken into consideration for trimming once printed. A compromise for avoiding white space if a document is unevenly trimmed.
slug- another area outside the page - not as commonly used as the bleed.

facing pages tickbox - depends on the document type. If it is a book format then this box should be ticked.

Purple line: page margin if a border is necessary.
black line: edge of the page, trimming line.
